Real Estate

My first foray into real estate was when I bought a condo in California in .... 2005. Anyone remember what the market was like then? Yikes...

But I had a great experience with my Realtor and when we moved to Florida, I had even more great experiences with my Realtor. I loved the process. I loved the interactions. So I got into the busines

But I had a great experience with my Realtor and when we moved to Florida, I had even more great experiences with my Realtor. I loved the process. I loved the interactions. So I got into the business.

I obtained my Sales Associate License in 2013 and upped that to a Broker's License in 2018. I work as a Broker Associate for Fine Properties specializing in Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota/Bradenton areas but still love the St Pete area

and have NO problem heading in that direction.

ISU Alumni

I lived in Illinois until I graduated from ISU with a degree in Economics. Then I moved to Northern California where I worked as an accountant, sound technician for television and corporate productions then as a law enforcement officer. I worked on the first 4 "Survivor" series and the DIY stuff like "Home Crashers", "Bath Crashers" etc.

I moved to FL and got into real estate which has combined my formal education and my work experiences to create a career.

Designations and Certifications

GRI I, II, and III- Graduate, Realtor Institute

In order to keep up with the changing world and changing markets of any business, you need a good education and you need to keep updating that. GRI is a weeks long, actually 3 separate courses, that help the foundation of all that is real estate from starting your business to thinking outside the box. I am committed to continuing to move and learn with the world, not stop and think I know it all.

Direct from NAR website:

GRI designees:

  • Have pursued a course of study that represents the minimum common body of knowledge for progressive real estate professionals.
  • Have developed a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to navigate the current real estate climate—no matter what its condition.
  • Are recognized nationally.
  • Act with professionalism and are committed to serving their clients and customers with the highest ethical standards.

RENE - Real Estate Negotiating Expert

RENE is the course to take to sharpen negotiation skills. I learned tips and tools to to help me be the best advocate for my customers and clients. The first time I took the class was in early 2016 here in Florida. I knew, as I took the class, how important it was and how much information there was to know and implement. I audited the class in late 2016 in Chicago to go over what I learned and to check out a different perspective.  You will not see RENE in the signature of my emails. I want you to know I have the education. I don't need to let the person on the other side of the negotiation know it. Why give them the heads up?!

PSA - Pricing Strategy Advisor

  • What is the value of a home?
  • What technology can I use to determine it?
  • What other expert can I work with to determine it?
  • How can I help my clients and customers understand the values?
  • What's the difference between a CMA, BPO, Appraisal and more?

These and many other questions are asked and answered in this education session. So many people look to Zillow.com to get the value of their home. But it is just one valuation based on public records - DATA. When is the last time Zillow actually walked through your house with you to determine the value of it? A Realtor, and educated person with the tools to help you, needs to be your source.

At Home with Diversity

We are all different and pretty similar all at the same time. While we all need shelter, what we need, want, like and dislike can be very different. I know what I want and am used to - what about you? I have this designation because of my ongoing education and curiosity to learn about different people, cultures, customs and perspectives.

Accredited Buyer's Representative

It really is about you: what you want, where you want it. Listening to you as a buyer is getting to know you, finding out if you like to entertain, if you like quiet, if you like busy, do you want amenities? a dog park close by? do you commute? Do you work? do you volunteer?

And once I get to know you I can help you find what your looking for and help you get it.

Seller Representative Specialist

My first question to you: Do you want to list your house or sell your house? They really are two different concepts. Any licensed real estate agent can list your house but can they sell your house? Too many sellers are disillusioned because they have been told many unreal things in order to get the listing. I prefer to get real. And marketing alone is not going to sell your home. Marketing gets people to see your home. But what happens next? Communication, negotiation, more communication.....inspections, repairs, contract options....so much more than a flyer can do.

Continuing Education Opportunities

In addition to all the Certifications and Designations I can acquire from various educational entities, I also go to meetings and seminars about subjects such as:

  • The current market
  • What does "Green" mean?
  • FIRPTA
  • Homestead
  • Contract updates, FAR, FAR-BAR, CRSP
  • Financing: FHA, VA, USDA, conventional loan, PMI. MIP
  • Home owner Association v Condo Association
  • So much more
